The Party of Communists USA (PCUSA) condemns the brutal repression and police violence against the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE), the All-Workers Militant Front (PAME), and their comrades during the commemoration of the 47th anniversary of the November 17th Athens Polytechnic Uprising.
The KKE followed all the recommendations by healthcare professionals and acted in a disciplined and praiseworthy manner. The reactionary New Democracy (ND) government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis used the COVID-19 pandemic as an excuse to crush the KKE demonstration and reveal the true face of the ruling class in Greece.
November 17th honors those heroic students and workers who stood up against the brutal military dictatorship (Junta) which ruled Greece with the backing of US-NATO imperialism from 1967–1974. We communists will never forget the decades of anti-communist persecution, exile, torture, and murder that occurred in Greece following the end of the Greek Civil War.
We will continue to work closely with the KKE and all other communist and workers’ parties to fight against US-EU-NATO imperialism as we struggle to build a socialist future for all.
PCUSA salutes and expresses its solidarity with the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE), and the All-Workers Militant Front (PAME).
HANDS OFF THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF GREECE!
DOWN WITH US-EU-NATO IMPERIALISM!
LONG LIVE PROLETARIAN INTERNATIONALISM!
LONG LIVE THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF GREECE!
